Dan Ryon:
I wanted to take a moment and thank each and every homeowner that responded timely to the Notices. Our Neighborhood is looking great. Many boats have found a proper home, old vehicles and trailers have been moved to proper locations and yards are looking neat and tidy.
It is unfortunate we are sometimes placed in a position which requires us to give out a Notice of Violation. It has been a learning experience and I have met some very considerate neighbors along the way.
We are proud to be a homeowner in Summer Creek.

Thank you for writing. The enforcement of Article VI, Section 3 of the Covenants and Restrictions is an issue we will try to resolve this year. This has been a concern for many Summer Creek homeowners and the Board of Directors intends to resolve it this year. You could help us by attending the annual meeting on Sunday, February 17, and voting for the recommendations specified in the Covenants.
Again, thank you for writing and for being a concerned resident. Warren Hodge, President

Jennifer Johnson:
Love the new website. I am wondering about the enforcement of our covenant rules...especially the one stated in Article VI, sec. (3). It seems that there are a select few who are either blatantly or unknowingly failing to comply. Is there a designated enforcement person who tends to this (usually unpleasant) task? As a non-confrontational person, I am not volunteering, just curious. Anyway, I am sending in my dues right away.

I want to echo Donna's comments of attending the Annual meeting it will be in February this year due to the Library needing their meeting rooms for elections, etc. Even bigger concerns are new developments and making sure they do not negatively impact our roads, drainage etc. (The drainage issue on 64th has been adressed and taken care of) Springhills Development is still alive and the cut through to Millhopper Road could greatly impact traffic flow on 39th. Therefore it is important to be informed. There are safety concerns with vehicles parked in the street. The bus driver has difficulty some days getting through and cars parked near fire hydrants pose a threat to nearby homeowners. I have requested of the Fire Department to paint the curbs by our Fire Hydrants as a reminder. I would further like to see some of our dues go to developing a Community Bulletin Board and perhaps a small park with a bench and shade tree, made out of the common area on 59th Terrace. It would be wonderful if we could get a great turn out from those in Phase V so we can address everyone concerns. We are fortunate to have wonderful neighbors and we even had a Yard of the Month! See you at the meeting.

Donna LaTorre:
Just wanted to urge everyone to come to the Annual meeting. We are all busy, but please schedule this in. Your input at this one meeting can help to direct the Board for the entire year. For instance, those of you that have boats, trailers, etc in your drive as well as those who have gone to considerable expense to store/remove their boats/trailers only to watch as their neighbors don't really should have a say in how to handle this situation. Without a quorum, the Board cannot vote into the covenants any kind of monetary penalties for non-compliance. Likewise, those of you who work hard to maintain your house and yard might have input as to what to do with those homeowners that don't maintain the yard and whose weeds seed and blow into all our yards. Excessive parking in the streets, dog poop in your yard, etc all affect the quality of life in Summer Creek. Not to mention, that with the big downturn in the housing market, anyone selling or interested in at least MAINTAINing their homes value should attend. The neighborhood is only as good as the worst maintained home...

Just curious when the events page will be updated and it would be fun to see winners of those contests posted!

On Jan.3, 2007 at 3:30 AM a bullet fired from a high power rifle came through our den wall.It pierced two wood fences, a storage shed, our interior wall and our paper shredder. No one was injured as the shot entered an unoccupied bedroom. From all indications this bullet was fired from the direction of the creek behind NW 41st Lane. The Alachua Sheriff's Office is investigating, however we want all residents to know that there was this incident of an .223 rifle being fired within striking distance of Summer Creek homes and that it occured at 3 am. The case is being handled by a Deputy Richardson of the ASO if you wish to contact him directly.
We are hoping that this was an isolated event; however it was an extremely dangerous and illegal action that may have had lethal consequences. Please inform your neighbors so that we all might be aware of what happened and hopefully make sure our neighborhood is safe from such reckless action that endangers us all in the future. Thanks.

We are new to this neighborhood and just adore it! We appreciate any info we can get as this is our first home and our first association experience. The beautiful neighborhood sold us before we ever saw the house! :)

Great job on the website! Thanks to everyone volunteering their time on the board. Karim had asked me once if I was willing to do another neighborhood directory, which I am, but I never heard anything back.

I absolutely love this website; my thanks to the board for putting it together!

The postings on the mailboxes make our neighborhood look trashy. I think news worthy items should be posted electronically on this page.

Dick Walinski:
The US Postal Service policy states, "Advertising on a mailbox or the supporting post of the mailbox is prohibited." An alternative method of getting the messages out to homeowners would be to purchase a "message board" and place it in a proximity viewable for all, possibly alongside Lake Wally. This would cut down on the litter that the fliers cause when they blow free of their postings.

We've loved living in Summer Creek and we're going to miss it. The website looks great. I was very impressed when it pulled up. It came at just the right time. The title attorney handling our closing next week just called to get a contact number for the homeowners association here. They are looking for the annual dues for the soon to be new homeowners! So, thanks. Without the website, I would've been down knocking on your door.
